I decided at the beginning of 2012 to do away with meat, dairy, and eggs as part of my diet.  I am an avid animal lover, but I am doing this mainly for health reasons.  I watched a great movie called Forks Over Knives that really helped change my thought processes as far as what I wanted to put into my body.  I’ve had a few “slip-ups” in the last year, but I am back on track and planning on staying there!  One thing I’ve learned over the years is to not beat myself up when I make mistakes.

I am losing weight as a result of changing my eating habits (wooo hooooo!), feeling and looking better than I have in a long time, and really enjoying learning new recipes and cooking styles.  You have to use your imagination in vegan cooking, always trying new flavors and textures to keep things exciting.  I like that.

I am a Pagan and follow a spiritual path in which I believe that the Divine lives/dwells inside me.  My body is my temple to the Divine, so shouldn’t it be in the best condition possible?  With a vegan diet, I feel I am doing my best to ensure good health for a very long time to come!

I hope to build a good base of recipes on my blog so that anyone interested in vegan/vegetarian food will be able to take from it what they will, change it up if they want, and continue sharing good food ideas for many healthy years to come.
